Dried tangerine peel is known in Chinese as “Chen Pi” (陈皮).

The practice of using citrus peels in traditional Chinese medicine originated from Song Dynasty and has lasted for seven hundred years. Chen pi was of high popularity through the Ming and Qing Dynasties. A famous Qing doctor named Ye Gui (1667-1746) prescribed Chen pi as one of the ingredients in ‘Erchen Tang’ meaning two cured decoction. 

The tea has wonderful rich and earthy flavours of Pu’er and heavenly match with citrusy notes of tangerine.
